Our Malls are Great Places to Find Brilliant
Cut Glass On
March 31st Antiques Roadshow
on PBS
presents the baseball collectables of
Linus "Lonny" Reinhart Frey.
The father-in-law of Margaret-Anne Frey,
antique dealer #21 in our Star Center Mall,
"Lonny" was the youngest Captain of
the Brooklyn Dodgers under manager
Casey Stengel in the 1930's.
He is considered the 35th
best second baseman
to ever play the game. He is the last man
alive (at
age 97) to have played for
every New York team - giants,
dodgers, and Yankees.
Some of the collectables to be presented on the Roadshow from Lonny's
personal collection are:
#1) 1947 World Series Ring from the
N.Y. Yankees
#2) Shoeless Joe Jackson bat
#3) Commemorative bat from 1947 World Series signed by all the
ball players
#4) All-Star bat commemorative
#5) N.Y. Yankees watch from historic
19 game winning streak
