Art Deco platinum engagement ring setting c.1930, with a new Round Brilliant Cut irradiated blue diamond set into it. The ring's total weight is 6.67g. The center diamond's clarity is I-2, estimated weight is 1.19 carats. Measures 6.60x6.62x4.14mm. Two tapered baguettes set Harry Winston style, measuring 4.75x1.75x0.7mm, total carat weight .08. 1.8mm band stamped Bristol 100 Irid 900 Plat. (While some platinum is 950, the 900 platinum / 100 iridium was the classic mix favored in the past, and some designers today who specialize in platinum settings swear by it.) Size 6.5. Local appraisal, included, for $4,315, but priced at $3,495. Has a thin platinum wedding band included. The setting of the engagement ring is notched slightly on one side to let the wedding band sit flush. For those unfamiliar with irradiated diamonds, it is a process that permanently alters the stone's original color, to a brilliant teal blue typically, though yellow, orange, red, black, pink, purple, and green are also possible. It is usually done on off color, included stones; it doesn't really alter the stone's value, just makes it more attractive.
